The origin

Found in a barn

Last Reel Cinema Services started with a broken Ernemann projector found in a barn outside Bergerac. Marc Delvaux bought it for the price of scrap metal, spent a winter rebuilding it in his workshop, and threaded the first test reel — a faded print of Jour de Fête — on a sheet hung between two walnut trees. Twenty neighbours showed up.

Questions we're
often asked

What should I bring?
A blanket or a low chair, a layer for when the air cools, and whoever you want beside you. We bring the projector, the screen, the sound, and the film. A bottle and something to nibble are always welcome.
How much does it cost?
Pay what you can, at the door. Reserving a seat is free and simply holds your place — give what the night felt worth as you leave.
When should I arrive?
Come at dusk. Blankets go down as the sun drops; the reel starts once it's properly dark, usually around 9:30pm in high summer.
What if it rains?
Open-air nights need dry skies. If the forecast turns we move to a covered spot or pick a new date — everyone who reserved gets an email by early afternoon.
Can I bring kids and dogs?
Yes to both. Little ones and calm dogs are part of the crowd. The films are old classics — glance at the year on the tour list if you're bringing very young ones.
Can I take a poster home?
You can. The prints in rotation are for sale and ship rolled in kraft tubes across France and most of the EU — find them in the shop on the home page.
